Bio
The liberty of creating, the process of experimentation, the fact that there are no rules are the sources of my inspiration. Mistakes are a knitter's best friend. They pave the way for new techniques, textures and shapes.
About
When I was 12 I saw an exhibition by Roberto Capucci in Rome and I was bewitched. My attention had always been drawn to clothing, I guess for a natural, instinctive sense of style and the playfulness I could find in it. Seeing how a fabric could be sculpted, manipulated and transformed into something so unusual and beautiful was magical. While studying in Florence, I hand knitted a multifunctional accessory that could be worn as a hat, scarf or body warmer. With the help of a local artisan, I produced it for the likes of the Italian and the online market. I studied knitwear in Brighton to broaden my expertise. Knitwear is infinite, I would say. You can never learn enough or discover enough. There's always much more to it, many more solutions to be found, more stitches to be dropped, patterns or sizes to get wrong to lead you into unpredictable territories.
Production Methods
Each piece is hand knitted on a flatbed machine in high-quality yarns, breathable, light and very soft. I love the process of making both the fabric and the garment, experimenting with shapes and stitches. Timeless and long-lasting products should be considered best for the environment.
The yarns I choose come from small local producers or end-of-line stock, all made of high-quality natural fibres.
I do my best when I follow my instinct and leave fashion trends far behind.
I don't believe in design for design's sake.
For me, the most important thing is that people actually wear my clothes.
